Keep Your Passion ALIVE!
Creativity is a rollercoaster
WEEKLY UPLOADS IN 2025!!!!
Yes you read that right, I will be posting weekly content in 2025. I’m excited because this allows me to have the routine of posting more but also having a constant flow of starting and finishing a project is HUGE. I feel in 2024 I got caught up in trying to re-invent the wheel for every new project and that gave me so much doubt in the process. Also burning myself up so fast because at the beginning of each project I would feel the pressure to make a fantastic movie each time!
This year though, I plan on creating more to focus on becoming a solid story telling even if that means not always having the most beautiful shots and colors. I want how I sound on camera to sound more confident and real and focused than trying to come up with something right on the spot and it not have depth. Leading to not the best story telling.
So that is what this years weekly uploads are for and I am so excited to share the process. My goal is to create more things for the audience as well. Not alienating the community to only watch what interests me but bringing something they can learn or physically get to improve on their creative journey!
More to update coming in 2025 😎
YouTube Video of the Week
I remember the day the first episode dropped. Natalie Lynn has been a deeply rooted part of the #newwave of YouTube Creators. Moving the current generation of creators from all over. Her series Borderless has been her most successful project to date. My favorite part of her style is how honest and confident she is on telling her story even when it is her lowest most personal moments.
Even though the series didn’t end as expected, picking herself back up after van-life and getting back to life after being totally exclusive to making this series, she is allowing herself to pause and get to see herself in the present before getting back into the next thing. I loved this sentiment. As creators we can feel pressured to keep going we can lose sight of the life passing us by instead of being present and living life.
“You are the greatest project you’ll ever worked on.” This was a quote she shared that is her favorite right now.
She touches on how hard she had to work on one of her videos in the past year, how much it took out of her and even though she loved the outcome, she doesn’t ever want to put herself through that again.
As creators, we are our worst critics. We lean into perfectionism and sometimes break ourselves to share a perfect representation of how we saw, felt, and processed a moment in our life. I know in this past year I strongly thought about “do I really want to do this…”
For me today it is an absolute YES! But remember creativity is a rollercoaster. There will be low points, you can’t always see what’s on the other side. But every time you find yourself at the high, you can look back at how far you’ve come and how much you’ve grown.
Keep creating in a way you love. Keep the passion alive.
How to keep 2025 resolutions
Have you hit the gym yet? Have you started posting consistently? Have you already seen how difficult creating a new habit can be?
You are not alone! I started trying to work out in November to carry a new habit into 2025….already I am off and have not worked out on day 1 of this year. But I wanted to write this section so you don’t give up! Building something new is always difficult. You don’t know exactly the outcome, the things to get in the way, your own energy levels, and not doing the goal on the day you planned can be SO discouraging. But setbacks happen. What is the most important is that you give back up!
Makes me think of a marathon runner. There are points in the marathon that you have to walk or might even fall. If every marathon runner didn’t keep going to finish the marathon that had to walk for even just a moment, I think there would only be a fraction of those to actually cross the finish line. But there are always ones who walk over the finish line. But a marathon runner isn’t swayed or distracted by the others who keep on running, seeming to be doing just fine. But you never can see what muscles are hurting on them, what mental battles they are facing, or what they are literally running from in their life.
So this year on your mission to pursue something, focus on you not how someone else is doing. They are only there to inspire, not to compare. You can do anything you put your mind to. The only real thing in the way is you.
“Everything is figure-out-able you just need to have the energy to do it.” - Tyler, the Creator
